PLASTIC Data Page
For Stereo/Plastic, Level 1 data refers to data that has been decompressed and checked for processing errors, but not converted into physical units. Level 2 and Level 3 data are in physical units. Level 2 data products are produced regularly, while Level 3 data products are produced on a case-by-case basis. They often require data from other instruments or are periodic event lists.
Operational Note
On Dec 5, 2019, there was an abrupt increase in our background rates. This background rate has declined over time, but is not yet back to normal. Data from Dec 6, 2019 through February, 2020, are instrument testing. L2 data from March 2020 onward incorporate new algorithms for background subtraction and efficiencies. These are subject to updates. Preliminary data, including beacon data, may not have the latest efficiencies incorporated.
